VOLT Regional Teams (11u - 18u)

Our VOLT Regional program is designed for athletes who want to develop their volleyball skills, attend positional practices, willingness and ability to travel 3+ hours to the majority of tournaments, and looking to be apart of a fun, competitive team environment. Regional tournaments are tentatively planned for Fargo-Moorhead, Sioux Falls, SD and Twin Cities area. Players are required to pay their own travel expenses, in addition to the season fees. Regional teams will have approximately two 1-day tournaments in addition to four 2-day tournaments.

  • VOLT Volleyball is planning on 2-3 regional teams per age division, pending caliber of the team as we want teams to be successful in tournament play

  • Teams will have a mix of 1-day and 2-day tournaments (Saturdays & Sundays, NO weekday tournaments).  Top Regional teams (12s-14s) will attend the Northern Lights Qualifier in March which will include play on Friday.

  • Teams are approximately 9-10 players.  However, we will make a team with 8-12 players if needed

  • VOLT Regional teams require a strong commitment to attend practices and tournaments

  • Regional winter practices will start in December.  Spring practices will begin in late February and conclude in May

  • Regional teams are planned for 2 practices per week

  • Athletes may have assigned positional practices designed for athletes to be working with skill-specific coaches (setters, defensive specialists, middle blocks, pin hitters, etc.) throughout the season.

  • Regional teams will attend 4 winter and 6 spring tournaments

  • Players are required to pay their own travel expenses, in addition to the season fees

  • Regional Tournaments are normally in the Twin Cities, Sioux Falls, Omaha, or at most 5-6 hours away.

  • Typical tournament day:  7:30AM – 5:00PM (player is not allowed to leave during the day)

  • VOLT will consider an 11U Open or Regional team pending caliber of athletes and participants

  • Fundraising is required.  VOLT does not require athletes or parents to fulfill DIB hours.

  • VOLT Regional players will need a NCR/USAV ($55) and AAU ($17) membership.

  • Tryout for Winter Open season will align with spring season tryout process

Athletes can participate in just the Winter season however teams will be limited due to the LIMITED number of available tournaments and travel required.  Reminder, the Winter season does NOT have program levels such as Local, Regional, or Open as majority of the tournaments played will be out-of-town.  And, yes, athletes can participate in just the Spring season!
